Bentham Lodge, so named after the great, Jeremy Bentham, was built in 1892 as the home (manse) for the minister of the Wesleyan Chapel built in the same year. In 1954, the chapel was decommissioned and sold along with the house to private owners.
Over the years the former chapel has been an art gallery, computer repair shop, printer ink shop and debt restructuring company.
